NTSC / J PS3 Games Region 1?
I have a / NTSC J PS3 and the games I have Mercenaries 2, Dead Space, Grand Theft Auto IV in GTA IV is the region 2, while the two Mercenaries 2 and Dead Space are in Region 3. I was wondering if my PS3 can play a part of Region 1. I do know is the PS3 region free although I'm not really sure if this will work. I live in the Philippines, Baguio City and I use an HDTV with a cable HD. The mention of high definition because although I have heard something of the person in the store I went to play HDTV. I doubt that the game (which is Far Cry 2) works well since I heard about this person that some PS3 could not play some games depending on the region.
Yes, all PS3 games are Region Free with one exception: Army of Two by EA. This game has been blocked for very specific reasons to do with censorship laws and problems of network play. Apart from that part (Army of Two), a PS3 can play any PS3 game from any region.
